Clayton Lee is not the same guy in the same hat singing the same songs the same way. When you listen to a Clayton lee CD the immediate impression is “ Hey this guy didn’t contrive this record to sound like something else”. That’s because a Clayton Lee CD really is not created to match the flavor of the month. Go to your record collection. Pull something out that was recorded fifteen years ago. Play it. Does it sound like it could have been recorded last week? Does it sound fresh? Would you buy it today? How often do you play it? When was the last time you thought about the artist? If you answered these questions in a positive way, that particular artist made a great record. He’s probably a great artist. That is the benchmark Clayton aspires to.

Clayton’s genre is a Country by way of Louisiana & Texas, Americana/Country-Rock blend with thump. It’s American Honky Tonk, foot stompin’, dance with the girl, party till you drop, cry in yer beer, story tellin’, howl at the moon, contemplate the universe music. It’s real. It’s authentic.

Clayton took advantage of a misspent youth by gaining the experience to entertain your sox off. He started playing for drinks and tips in bars at the age of sixteen. While playing at every opportunity, he went to work on the offshore oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, and learned how to really “pass a good time” from the fine people of South Louisiana. The characters Clayton met as a high-pressure pipe welder and “passin’ a good time” in Louisiana have become the inspiration for many of his songs. Clayton left the welding and ironworking trades five years ago to concentrate his efforts on his family and his music.

Clayton Lee’s first CD the self titled “Clayton Lee” enjoyed success with national radio airplay. The single “Happy Now” is a duet with recording artist Teresa James. Clayton performs regularly in Southern California. He also makes personal appearances at dances. He has made numerous appearances on Southern California television and radio stations.

Clayton is proud to release his new album ”Don’t Worry ‘Bout Nut’in’”. Take a listen.
